Our Runcoach community gives us countless reasons to cheer. This recap brought everything from breakthrough performances and hard-earned PRs to comeback races, first-time victories, and meaningful moments that went far beyond the finish line.

Community Highlights

  1. Melody Presswood ran an impressive 3:40 at the Cape Town Marathon to earn another Boston qualifying time. Despite a warm race day and managing a slight injury during her training build, Melody delivered a fantastic performance.
  2. Paul Nolan had a standout month, running his fastest marathon of the year by six minutes at Cape Town before following it up with another superb performance at the Sunshine Coast Marathon, where he finished 6th in his 70–74 age group at marathon #14. Screenshot_2026-06-07_at_1.59.33_pm
  3. Ilan Buchbinder made a particularly meaningful return to racing at the Herzliya 10K in Israel, running 51:50 and finishing 5th in his age group. After so many races were canceled over the past three years, it was wonderful to see Ilan back on the starting line.
  4. Dan Cowles braved the early Texas heat to finish 3rd in his age group at the Plano Pacers 5K.
  5. Megan Neeley ran a fantastic 5K on a hot and humid day, putting her training block to the test and setting herself up for an exciting next race. That sub-30 is looking close!
  6. Jeff Brune had another remarkable month, winning his age group at the Bolder Boulder 10K and earning an “Ageless Wonder” shirt alongside his wife, Christine. He then continued his winning streak with an age-group victory at the Nebraska Senior Games 5K and 10K, and finished as the top Masters runner at the Cornhusker State Games 5K in 19:01. Jeff also kept his Boston qualifying streak alive at the Anchorage Marathon, finishing 3rd in his age group after successfully managing a hamstring issue and executing a modified race plan.
  7. Tony McCosham ran his fastest 5K since 2020 at the Red Legs Run in Cincinnati. Six years later, Tony earned himself a new PR with some excellent progressive pacing. Medal_Monday
  8. Eric Eidsmoe had a terrific race at the Dow RunWalk 10K, winning his age group and bringing home an especially impressive 40th-anniversary medal.
  9. Frank Marshall put together a terrific Ottawa Marathon after a challenging winter filled with professional demands and plenty of snow. Sometimes getting to the starting line is an achievement in itself—and Frank made the most of it.
  10. Michal Shasberger continued an incredible streak, winning his age group at five consecutive half marathons, including the Jackson Trail race. He also finished 15th overall, proving that age is clearly just a number!
  11. Ed Brown enjoyed a great run at the Branford 5 Miler, using the race as an opportunity to step back, enjoy the day, and celebrate Father's Day. We also love seeing that Runcoach gear, Ed!
  12. Robin Schroeder made a fantastic comeback after a difficult spring and winter dealing with health challenges. She ran a 5K and then came back the following weekend to run her fastest half marathon of 2026. What a way to return!
  13. Pontus Axelsson continued his comeback from injury with a huge 10K at the Queens 10K, running about two minutes faster than last year—and, most importantly, doing it without pain. That's a win worth celebrating.
  14. Rachel had an outstanding race at Grandma’s Marathon, crushing her PR with a 3:26 finish. She not only broke her goal of 3:30 but also earned a Boston qualifying time after months of consistent training and trust in the process.
  15. Brandon Schott tackled his first-ever 15K at the Sunday Runday 15K, running an 11:01 average pace and coming within a second of his 11-minute goal. More importantly, he conquered his longest distance yet!
  16. Austin Murch earned his first overall race victory at the Mt. Shasta 4th of July 5 Miler, crossing the finish line in 27:26. His goal wasn't a time—it was the win—and he accomplished it!
  17. Tara Barrett made her Masters debut at the Heat Wave Half Marathon with a gold medal in her age group and a 2nd-place overall Masters finish. One of the best perks of getting older as a runner? New age groups to conquer!
  18. Allie Yamamoto finished 2nd alongside Twyla at Marin’s Rodeo Valley Trail Race 8K, representing the Bay Area Urban Mushers team in style.
  19. Kate Evanko had an incredible racing double, running a sizzling 6:11 final mile at the Harlem 5K on Saturday before returning Sunday to win the Staten Island Sprint Triathlon. She's looking stronger than ever as she prepares for her ultimate goal: the NYC Marathon.
  20. Katy Modica ran a brilliant 22:06 at her local 5K, with perhaps the best race-day support of all—a perfectly timed high five from her daughter along the course.
